Common Admissions Questions
What type of student are you looking for during the admissions process?
We are looking to accept active learners in a range of academic and social profiles.
What curriculum do you use?
We use The Ontario Curriculum and provide enrichment in the areas of literacy (reading and writing) numeracy (mathematics), and technology.
What qualifications do your teachers have?
We have the highest standards with respect to hiring and only hire certified teachers and those qualified in their field.
What are your class sizes?
There will be, at minimum, one classroom teacher for every 15 students.
Can my child join EDGES Academy starting at any grade level?
Yes, we welcome students from grades 1-8, based on availability in the admissions process.
My child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), do you accommodate students with IEPs?
Yes, we accommodate students with IEPs.
How much is the tuition? What is included in the tuition?
For admissions for the 2024-2025 school year, we charge $17,878.00 and $17,000 for each additional sibling. Included in the tuition are all extra curricular clubs, ice time, sports specific training, specialized classes, guest speakers, and extra help.
Do students wear uniforms?
Yes, students will be required to wear uniforms at an extra cost. Please see our Uniforms page located in the Admissions tab of our home page.
What extra costs might I incur throughout the school year?
There is an optional hot meal plan that can be purchased. Additionally, costs that could be incurred before or after school care, and personal devices.
Does EDGES follow the same calendar as the public school system?
Yes, we follow the public school calendar. All religious and statutory holidays, as well as Professional Development Days will be the same as the Toronto District School Board.
